My Bio
I'm an art student and amateur character designer from the Midwest trying to get the tools and skills I need for a future job in the animation industry. I primarily work with Adobe Illustrator, with touch-ups done in Photoshop.

I'm currently in the midst of self-teaching myself other skills for the animation industry, including storyboarding and basic frame-by-frame animation. It's a rough road, but I'm doing my best to be patient and pick up what I can via online tutorials, reading books, and even talking to industry professionals for advice. I'm always looking for advice and critiques.

It's been a long, long time since I've posted here. Soooo how about an update? I just turned 26 the other day, and it's made me look back on the past year. I've since procured a house (complete with my own studio), a car, and two dogs, all of which I share with my loving girlfriend Chelsey. You really have no idea how badass this girl is. We're coming up on our one year anniversary, and it's been a wild ride. A girlfriend I can go home and play Xbox with every night. A girlfriend who, for my birthday, surprised me by hand-making me a bouquet of BACON ROSES and pre-ordering Arkham Origins. She really is, absolutely, one of a kind. My career

You really have no idea how much I love comic books. It's so easy to lose myself in them and live in a different world for a little bit. It's therapeutic. I've been reading Robin, like, from the beginning, back in 1993 when he got his own recurring series, and let me tell you, it's some of the best stuff I've ever put eyes to. That nice little blend of fantasy and reality, seeing how somebody closer to my age group deals with life behind the mask. Plus, it's less "We must save the city from giant radioactive scorpions and Megaface!" and more detective work, forensics, street crime. It's back where Batman's roots are, and it's really easy to

I dropped art a while back because it just wasn't fun anymore. I was stuck in a rut and I'd just gone to a point where I no longer cared to try anymore. My family was... less than happy about it. I'd put a lot of time and money into try to be an artist, and suddenly just wanted to quit- my mother, a painter and printmaker by trade, was downright livid at first. It was my cousin who suggested I go ahead and keep in practice. No pressure, just throw down a doodle or design every so often to keep myself from getting too rusty, in case I changed my mind, or found a way to make a quick buck if I was low on cash. My cousin is a freaking genius.
